Blame it on the boogie.

Remember those moments in life when you're in the car and your parents have some 8o's or 70's tune playing from a cd or a radio. they crank it up really loudly and by gods help try to sing the song while reminiscing the days when 'disco' was the in thing. But in todays reality usually it's just 2 old people singing out of tune at the front of the car with their heads bobbing from side to side. Shame to those kids who have them as their parents.
and then the arguments begin where they start bragging about how freaking awesome-tastic their era was and blah..blah..blah about how awesome music was that time...how people made REAL music that time. Being us, we tend to fight back with comments such as those people didn't live in the real world... every song is just about sappy love...they don't capture how we live now...their songs have no feelings. This arguments can go on for hours..and hours.
so i am one of those kids that fight back and defend my generations music. i"m a 90's kid, so i grew up with the whole boyband(BSB,Nsync) and girly girl music coutesty of britney spears.

A few years later, after some growing up and maturing in my taste of music. I begin to appreciate the music my parents listen to which include Quincy Jones,The Jackson Five,Diana Ross,Aha,Toto,Level 42,Earth wind and fire,Gabriel,Michael Jackson,Queen... and the list just goes on and i begin to wonder if our generation of music will stand the test of time. It seems nowadays that every band, boyband, girlband or singer from every corner of the world seems to be a carbon copy of one another. Though there are some that stick out and represent a genre but rarely we find one that has the status icon. I really...really do wonder if the music i listen to like the killers, cut copy, coldplay, white lies, death cab for cutie, does it offend you, yeah? will continue to play in the future? i believe that the music i listen to now will be the ones that i will want to listen to when im old. haha Will there be a radio station that plays them? okay! so my choice of music isn't the mainstream tunes that they usually play a gazillion times on the radio until your ears bleed. Therefore, im seriously asking for something thats hard to get, especially in malaysia where the majority just loveee the mainstream music.
but it bugs me that my parents have the privilege of listening to their music after decades passed and what if im not granted the same?
so you might say, hye you can still use a cd idiot.
but the fact is that it won't be the same like when it's on the radio, at least if it's on the radio you know someone out there is also listening to it with you.

i'll be pissed off that i can't be one of those idiots (minus the bobbing head) at the front of the car listening to the radio while arguing with my kids about whose musical era was the most awesome-tastic. :D

what brought this whole blog up:
after watching 2 hours of M.J's music video on Mtv and channel V. i found it amazing how his music totally goes againts whatever era you come from.

today i was suprised by the fact that some primary school kids were caught downloading his tunes on their school laptops and it showed me how his music reaches out to anyone. even if your six (my sister is belting out Beat it) . hahah

i now can check off my mum's bday card photoshoot off my list. :D
irah came over today and we finished the whole thing and with amazing photos, i'm still contemplating on which one to choose as the main picture. so thanks to irah for coming... if she didn't i wouldnt have had any brill ideas.

pictures are not up yet, havent had time to view them yet.

and i can't believe i found this video on youtube. ive never watched it before.
so when i heard the song for the first time i had an idea of getting high and imagining the stuff the Beatles was saying
in the song.
and yes the video does prove you must get high.. haha well to me it does.

till next time,

Selamat Tinggal.
